Art

Practice. Then practice more.

Other then that, search around online for different techniques and styles of sketch work. There is a difference in the skills you use to sketch people and the skills you use to sketch a still life or landscape.

As far as the people – and I personally have never liked sketching people – keep in mind that each part of the body has a shape. Most of the parts of the body, the shapes are going to end up being oval to some degree. Start with that basic shape to get the size, scale and basic postition, then add more detail in. It takes time, and, as said above, practice.

I would try to practice alot and try to see what you are best at drawing. try drawing lots of different things. Try people. animals. plants.. buildings and objects. what looks the best? and then practice it more.
