		<description>Yes, Khmer and Thai are very similar because the countries are located right next to each other. The dominant religion in both countries are Theravada Buddhism. Their dancing styles and clothing are similar. Cambodia&#039;s cuisine is similar to other Southeast asian countries including Thailand&#039;s but Thai food is usually more spicy. However, there are also many differences between the two countries. For example, only Cambodians wear kramas (scarves).

However, Khmer and Thai languages are completely different languages so I think it would still be difficult to learn Khmer even if you already know Thai.
